There is a lot of information out there right now about Instagram automation. There are mixed opinions on whether automation tools are worth your money and time. While some people discourage the use of automation tools, others believe they are essential for any brand’s success.
After doing some research and looking around, I decided to try it myself. To see how automation works for me, I have been using SocialDrift for the past two and a quarter months.
Here are some of the things I learned from my experiences with it.
1. Keep it simple.
People make the common error of giving multiple automation services access their Instagram account. They believe that having more automation services running simultaneously will lead to more growth.
Contrary to popular belief, this is not true. It will probably do more harm than good.
This is because Instagram may find your activity suspicious. The app was designed to monitor your activity and ensure that you are within human limits. There is a possibility that you will be banned if you give out too many comments and likes per minute.
These restrictions are enforced by most automation tools. SocialDrift, for example, uses SecureBoost to stop your account exceeding the limit. It’s better to trust them to do their jobs on their own than to try to stack them all and push it to the limit.
This was a great tip that I had to know before I started. Everything went well. Remember to do your research before you attempt anything.
2. Always refer to the tutorial.
Sometimes, it can be hard to resist the temptation to jump in and learn on the spot. This is something I am terrible at. My strongest strength is patience. This is an example where I strongly support it.
SocialDrift’s interface is intuitive, however. Its layout is very simple and clear. However, it is still worth learning a little bit about the controls. This is true for all automation tools.
Many tutorials offer useful tips and ideas that you may not have thought of. These tutorials are also useful to refer to if you have forgotten how something works.
3. Define your desired audience.
Are you having trouble getting your automation tool to work as well as it should? This could be because your targeting filters are not specific enough.
First, narrow down the demographics that you want to target. It will be easier to tailor your interactions to the needs and interests of your target audience if you have a clear profile.
Engaging with smaller accounts is a great way to get more activity. This applies to users whose posts aren’t often seen a lot. They will be most inclined to recognize you and return the favor. SocialDrift allows you to set the maximum and minimum number of likes that you want for each piece of content you interact with.
Targeting users in the local area is a smart way to market to local businesses with physical locations. SocialDrift offers a place targeting feature that will help you do this. You can also interact with certain users who use specific hashtags or follow particular accounts.
4. Strategically use the Unfollow option.
You might be wondering why you’d ever want to unfollow someone else. You know what they say, the more the merrier.
Instagram won’t allow you to follow more than 7,500 accounts. You can only follow people who were created before these limits were put in place.
Sometimes, you may need to reduce the number of followers. After you have gained enough followers, you should reduce it to half of the total. This will make your account more popular and unique.
SocialDrift offers an automatic unfollowing function that is located at the top of the page under the Activity Types box. It was initially a bit hesitant to use, as it would unfollow too many people. However, it is very selective and gradual.
5. You can customize and modify your automated comments.
Almost every automation tool allows you to send comments for your account. This reduces the time and effort required to comment on hundreds upon hundreds of posts each day.
SocialDrift allows you to create comments that it will then use in rotation. I recommend that you write at least 12 of them. Having more comments makes your activity appear more natural and less generic. Keep adding new comments regularly and replacing old ones that have been around for a while.
6. Answer questions and continue to talk with your followers.
Automated comments can be very useful but they should not replace human interaction with your audience. It is important to address their concerns and queries, and engage in friendly conversations whenever possible. You should show them that the account is still managed by humans, and that you are available to listen to their concerns.
7. Optimize your settings
An embarrassing confession: When I first joined SocialDrift, the Optimization button was the most ignored. It is located above the Account Settings. It was there, and I did a quick glance, but I didn’t bother to return for a while. It is something I regret greatly now.
This page contains an ever-evolving list of suggested settings adjustments that you can make to your account. It is designed to help you achieve the best results. This list can also be color-coded and sorted according to urgency. Red is the most important.
Optimizing your business can make a huge difference. This was definitely the case for me. I wish I had taken optimization advice more seriously.
8. Concentrate on creating high-quality content.
Automation gives you more time to develop your content. This is the greatest advantage. Automation tools will undoubtedly bring more people to your site, but it is your content that will keep them there and make them follow you.
SocialDrift has been invaluable in this regard. It’s helped me feel at the top of my Instagram game.
