The Meta Quest 2 VR headset is one of the most sought-after on the market. But is it worth the cost? We have the answer to your question if that has been your constant struggle every day.
When we were creating our best VR games article, earlier this year, the Meta Quest 2 was being tested. The headset’s price has gone up in the UK, with the RRP increasing by 100 quid.
It is worth noting that the Meta Quest 2 has two versions. The difference in the storage available between the two versions is the amount of storage. After the price increase, the smaller 128GB version is now available for PS399.99. The larger 256GB version goes for PS499.99.
Black Friday Meta Quest 2 deals currently allow you to get the 128GB version of the PS349 for PS349 (a savings of PS51) or the 256GB version of the PS429 for PS429 (a savings of PS71 with some bonus games). Is it worth the price? Continue reading to find out!
Is Meta Quest 2 worth the effort? Let’s find out what we think:
The Meta Quest 2 is a great headset for virtual reality. The headset is a great introduction to VR, and it supports a variety of VR games.
We tested the Meta Quest 2 for a few months earlier in the year. It was much more comfortable than the PS4-era PSVR headset we had previously used, and offered many gaming options with stunning graphics. It was also much easier to set up. The PSVR requires a camera, a few cables, but the Meta Quest 2 is wireless and can be used without a camera!
We were immediately impressed with the Meta Quest 2 before we started to play games on it. The setup was simple and the home screen, which offers a serene view of the seaside, was amazing. Although it may seem minor, this makes the Meta Quest 2 feel welcoming and is a great place to spend your time.
It was simple to download and find games on the store. This can be linked to your smartphone’s app. We were able to quickly locate games we wanted to play. Beat Saber, which is a hybrid of Guitar Hero and lightsabers, was a popular choice. Resident Evil 4 VR port is also available on Meta Quest 2.
After we had installed the games, it was time for us to get started. We are very happy to report that all the games we tried on Meta Quest 2 ran smoothly and looked fantastic. Beat Saber is as enjoyable as they claim and you’ll feel like you’re getting a good workout once the more difficult levels are completed. Resident Evil 4 is an enjoyable port. However, you should choose the slower settings to avoid getting motion sick in VR.
There are also a lot of games that tie to major entertainment franchises, such as Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge and Jurassic World Aftermath. You can also download Vader Immortal, one of our favorite VR games, on the headset.
You can play a lot of games on the Meta Quest 2 (just like the ones we have listed so far). The Quest is a great headset for starting your VR journey, and it’s also more affordable than other options. It’s much cheaper than purchasing a PC and a headset.
