Amazon launches air freight service in India read to know more

Amazon launched Amazon Air in India Monday, a new service by the e-commerce giant Amazon. It will improve its transport network and allow for faster delivery to Indian customers.

Quikjet Cargo Airlines Private Limited will use the entire cargo capacity of a Boeing 737-880 aircraft to transport Amazon.

K. T. Rama Rao, Telangana’s minister of industries and commerce, was present at Quikjet’s induction ceremony. He was joined by Amazon’s senior leadership including Akhil Saxena – Vice President Customer Fulfilment (APAC MEN & LATAM), and WW Customer Service. Sarah Rhoads – Vice President Amazon Global Air in Hyderabad.

Amazon has become the first Indian e-commerce firm to partner with an air carrier in order to offer a dedicated air cargo network. According to the company, this is a sign of its commitment to India’s transportation infrastructure.

Quikjet will use this aircraft to transport Amazon customer orders to major cities like Hyderabad, Bangalore and Delhi. Amazon Air in India is a sign of the company’s determination to build its capacity to serve its customers and expand its transport network to deliver faster.

Minister Rama Rao pointed out that Amazon was the first Indian e-commerce company to establish a dedicated air cargo network. It chose Telangana triumphantly to launch Amazon Air in Europe and North America.

He stated that Amazon’s relationship with Hyderabad was growing stronger. He noted that Hyderabad already has Amazon’s largest campus, and AWS Data Centre has announced an investment of 4.4 million dollars by 2030. Hyderabad is home to Amazon’s largest fulfillment center in Asia.

Rama Rao stated that Telangana provides a favorable environment for multi-modal connectivity development and that Hyderabad has become a major hub in e-commerce distribution. He stated that the state has been working to strengthen its air cargo infrastructure and that Amazon Air will help make Hyderabad a major cargo hub. This will also create more employment opportunities.

Minister said that Hyderabad and Telangana remained bright beacons for investment. The state has attracted 47 billion dollars of investment over the past eight years. This does not include the 2.6 billion dollars that were committed last week by the World Economic Forum at Davos.

“Amazon Air arrives in India at a crucial time. We have made many positive moves over the years to improve our fulfillment, transport, and logistics infrastructure in India. Amazon Air’s investment will improve India’s delivery experience. Akhil Saxena stated that the launch will also support more than 1.1 million sellers in India. This will allow growth for ancillary business such as transport and aviation.

Amazon Air was founded in 2016 in the United States. It operates an air cargo network with more than 110 aircraft, and more than 70 destinations around the globe.
