Google Drive is a well-known tool that allows you to upload, create, and share files.

- Google Photos You can save your photos to Drive, and then you can access them and make edits with Google Photos.
- Scan documents With the Android app, you can scan any paper document as PDF. Simply snap a picture.
- Save Gmail Attachments: Click on an attachment in Gmail to see the Drive logo. To save any attachment to your Drive, hover over it.
- Drive apps With over 100 apps, you can do anything from editing a profile photo to creating a mindmap.
What is Google Drive?
Sign in to your Google Account first. If you are a consumer, follow these steps:
Computer
- Go to drive.google.com. You will see “My Drive”, which contains all your files and folders that you have uploaded or synchronized, as well as any Google Docs and Google Sheets, Google Slides and Google Forms that you’ve created.
- If there are no files in your Drive then upload them from your computer. Or create new files in Drive. Even Microsoft Office files can be used in Drive.
- Drive allows you to share files and folders with others so they can be edited, viewed, commented on, or modified by them.
Android device
- Open the Google Drive app on your Android phone.
- You can access, upload, share, and manage your Google Drive content via the app, as mentioned above.
- Google Drive can be integrated with other Google apps like Photos and provides universal access to all your Android devices.
iPhone or iPad
- Open the Google Drive app on your iPhone or iPad.
- You’ll be able to access your Drive and all its contents just like Android.
What about Backup and Sync
Google once offered a backup and sync tool to cuystomers. However, in 2021 this was replaced by a Google Drive app which integrated the same functions. You can Download to use on a Windows PC and Mac. This allows you to upload and store files from any folder.

What is Google One?

Google has reworked the Google Drive storage plans for consumers in 2018. Google refers to the paid plans as Google One. Google One offers additional benefits, but the cloud storage is still known as Google Drive.
Your storage quota can be shared with up to five members of your family. You also get enhanced photo editing in Google Photos. These Google One features are integrated into Google Photos so that you can see them when editing photos. This is one way Google hopes to increase value and encourage people to pay more for additional storage.
Google One now comes with a VPN. This will be installed on your device to prevent hackers from accessing your connection. It’s available as part of Google One for people who have plans exceeding 2TB or those who own a Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro.
